Azorious Advance is based around the new "detain" keyword ability that acts like a temporary pacifism in that a target creature cannot attack, block, or use its activated abilities until your (the detaining player's) next turn. This supposedly paves the way for your creatures to start smashing your opponent's face and/or buy you some time; along with Dramatic Rescue and Righteous Authority, this is a decent entry-level tempo deck.Generally I like this deck; it performs well among the other intro decks simply because almost all of them are entirely creature oriented so detain will really shine. It may struggle against the speed of Rakdos Raid, but excel greatly against Golgari Growth and dominate Selesnya Surge. It's still no match for the speed and spells of Izzet Ingenuity.
